Steve Tipton

Fellow classmate, Steven Malone Tipton, 45, He passed away in Big Spring on Saturday, March 4, 2006. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee on September 30, 1960 to Dr. James Warren and Sara Jane Malone Tipton. He enjoyed baseball and was a pitcher and catcher on his teams and played center in football. He attended Angelo State on a football scholarship and later also attended Texas Tech and Brookhaven Community College in Dallas.

His life's work varied from health club management, consignment store management, trucking work and later oil related work.

He was a very kind and loving soul and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Candy Hilario

Margaret "Candy" Hilario, 42, of Big Spring died at 9:01 PM Friday, October 3, 2003 at her home after having battled kidney failure for the past twenty years.

She was born January 22, 1961 in Acuna, Mexico. She had been a resident of Big Spring for thirty-five years. She married Tommy Hilario, August 17, 1979 in Big Spring. She was a homemaker and also worked at the YMCA for ten years until 2000. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband: Tommy Hilario of Big Spring; parents: Robert and Fermina Hamilton of Belton; one brother: David Hamilton of Plantation, Florida; two sisters: Clara Burkett and Marcy Stinson, both of Belton; four nephews: Jeremy Flores of Temple, Eric Flores and Christopher Flores, both of Belton, and David Carlos Hamilton of Houston; two nieces: Roberta Hamilton of Houston, and Suzette Hamilton of Plantation, Florida.


Anthony Tony Arista

Anthony Tony Arista, 41, died Friday, Oct. 20, 2000, at his residence.
Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Sunday in Myers & Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Thomas Catholic Church with burial in Mount Olive Memorial Park.
 
He was born Sept. 17, 1959, in Big Spring and had been a lifetime resident. He was a certified nurses aide at the Big Spring Care Center and was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church.
 
Survivors include his mother, Estanislada Arista of Big Spring; three daughters, Shelby Lynn Arista, Tonia Marie Arista and Joanna Lara, all of Big Spring; two sons, Michael Ray Arista of Big Spring and Anthony Cruz Arista; five sisters, Hattie Lou Hernandez of Fort Worth, Mary Jane Licon, Sarah Robles and Lynda Arrendondo, all of Big Spring, and Alisa Alvarado of Snyder; a brother, Adolph Arista of San Antonio; and several nieces and nephews.



Rodger Darrell "Bitty" Mize

1963-2005

Rodger Darrell "Bitty" Mize, 41, of Big Spring, died on Thursday, February 24, 2005, at his residence. He was born on October 16, 1963, in Sweetwater, Texas.

Rodger was a lifetime resident of Big Spring and had worked at the Big Spring State Hospital and at the Wood Living Centers for several years. He loved his dogs and riding motorcycles.

Survivors include his mother and step father, Wanda and Virgil McGee of Big Spring; two sisters, Starla Ayala (graduated BSHS 1979) and husband, Adrain, and Cindy Mize all of Big Spring; two nephews and four nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rodger Mize in 1996. The family suggest memorials to the charity of choice.

Willie Mae Hayes

1960-2005

Willie Mae Hayes, 44, of Midland, formerly of Big Spring, died Wednesday morning, February 16, 2005, at her home. She was born September 16, 1960, in Corsicana, Texas. She lived most of her life in Big Spring, moving to Midland two years ago. She graduated from Big Spring High School and graduated from LVN school at Howard College, and then graduated from Midland College as a Registered Nurse. She was a Registered Nurse at Rockwood Manor in Midland. She was a Baptist.

She is survived by her mother: Lola Mae Hayes of Big Spring; father: James Hayes of Abilene; 2 brothers: James Curtis Hayes, Jr. and Anthony Ray Hayes, both of Big Spring; 1 step-sister: Tracy Vanderbilt of Princeton, North Carolina; 1 niece: Tiffinie Vanderbilt of Big Spring; 1 nephew: Jarron Vanderbilt of Big Spring; and 1 great niece: Se'Quoia Vanderbilt of Big Spring.


Josephine Mitchell

1961-2004

Josie Mitchell, 42, of Big Spring died Sunday, July 4, 2004, at Moss Lake.

She was born Aug. 16, 1961, in Shreveport, La. She was a lifetime resident of Big Spring. She was a certified nursing assistant at Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez Texas Veteran's Home.

Her first love was her family. She loved all people, but especially the elderly, and was very devoted to her work and her patients at Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez. She was a member of the Shiloh House of Praise.

She is survived by one daughter, Karissa Magers of Big Spring; three sons, Michael Menefield, Tyral Menefield, and Shihiem Menefield, all of Big Spring; mother, Almonia Mitchell of Big Spring; five sisters, Annie Farr and her husband, Louis Green, Brenda Martin and her husband, Dennis, Doris Johnson and her husband, Gerald and Linda Banks and her husband, Holston, all of Big Spring, and Mary Mitchell of Van Vleck; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.



Lawrence Reagan "Larry" Wheat

1961 - 2004

Lawrence Reagan "Larry" Wheat was born, Nov. 16, 1961, in Big Spring to Walter Lee and Frances Reagan Wheat. He graduated from Big Spring High School where he excelled in band, choir and drama.

He attended Texas Christian University studying under the world-renowned Lili Kraus, earning a bachelor of piano performance. He then went on to attend the University of Texas and received a master's degree in architecture. Larry had an intense passion for the arts and was an accomplished musician as well as an artist. He played a variety of instruments and owned a beautiful singing voice. He was a featured pianist at many national and international festivals. He was greatly loved by children and was especially fond of his younger cousins and niece and nephew.

Larry resided in Dallas and worked for various architectural firms. At the time of his death he was a self-employed architect. He was a member of the Dallas City Planning Commission and was an advocate for urban renewal within the city.


 

Daniel Wayne Sundy

 

Daniel Wayne Sundy, 37, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 1997, in a local hospital. Service will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at First Christian Church with entombment in Trinity Memorial Park Mausoleum. Arrangements are by Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

He was born Oct. 22, 1960, in Big Spring and had been a longtime resident of Big Spring. He had been employed by Neiman-Marcus and was a member of the First Christian Church. Teresa Sundy of Lubbock (deceased 2005) was his sister.


Billy Minchew

Billy Minchew, 39, died Friday, Dec. 22, 2000, in a local hospital.
